Happy Day! Have you been using the suggestions to stay connected to family and friends this week? Look below for ideas....

Today we are going to

**begin our Mathematician Project!**You will be working on it today and tomorrow and the

**final project is due by next Friday, May 8th.**

1.

**Watch the short video**(in google classroom) explaining the project.

2.

**Open the directions and read through carefully.**

3. There is nothing to turn in today, but you should

**choose your mathematician and begin researching**.

4. The

**“Let Me Introduce You” form IS DUE by 5:00 pm on May 1st!**

5. Have fun!

6. This week's IXL's

**HH.2 and HH.6 are due by tomorrow.**

**Wednesday, April 29**

Today we are going to learn

**U8L14, "Comparing Mean and Median.**"

**Your learning targets:**

a. I can explain how the distribution of data affects the mean and the median.

b. I can determine when the mean or the median is more appropriate to describe the center of data.

1.

**Watch the assigned Edpuzzle**(link in google classroom).

**Important: When the video pauses, there is a question for you to answer, sometimes more than

one. You have to select or type your answer and then select "submit." After, select "next question"

(if there is one), and then when you are finished answering the question(s), select "continue."

**After you submit your answers, it will show you them for your review and/or correct them. When it

does this, keep selecting "next question" and then "continue" for the video to continue playing.

2. In your book,

**complete activity 14.2 (use the height data attached in google classroom**).

3.

**Complete practice problems #1, 2, 3 and submit to google classroom.**

**Tuesday, April 28**

Are you staying connected to your friends and classmates? Refer to the list of ideas sent by my leadership class and attached below!

**Today we are going to learn U8L13, "The Median of a Data Set."

Your learning targets:

a. I can find the median for a set of data.

b. I can say what the median represents and what it tells us in a given context.

1. Watch the assigned Khan Academy video: Mean, Median & Mode Example (3:54)

2. In your book or with the online book, complete Activities: 13.2 and 13.3 AND read the lesson summary.

3. Finally, complete practice problems #1,2,3 and submit to google classroom.

4. Continue to work on this week's IXLs: HH.2 and HH.6

**Monday, April 27**

I hope you had a wonderful weekend Mathematicians! What was your highlight? Mine was putting up a fence around my porch so Luna, my dog, can't get out!

1. Today we are going to learn how to find the Median of a data set.

2. First, please follow along with the awesome guided notes video in google classroom and fill in the blanks as they are discovered.

3. You can upload the Median guided notes and extra practice pdf into notability or print it.

4. On your iPad, you can split the screen between the video and your practice pdf.

5. Second, complete the entire practice pdf, take a picture of your work and submit here.
