Quality 19 – Servanthood: To Get Ahead, Put Others First
"Servant leaders put their agendas on hold and seek awareness of the needs of the people around them. They don’t wait for a crisis to lend aid; they initiate service each day. True servanthood does not happen out of a desire to manipulate people or to get anything in return, but rather it is fueled by love and a concern for others."
Thoughtfully reflect on and answer these questions: (turn in to google classroom)
1. What sort of student are you in middle school? Did you have a teachable attitude?
2. Do you enjoy teaching and training others? Why or why not?
3. Is it easy for you to ask for help, or do you prefer to figure out your own solutions to problems?
A certain level of independence is healthy, but stubborn refusal to admit you need help isn’t wise. Where is
the line between being too needy and being too self-reliant?
Continue to check in and work with your focus group! What is going on with our Outdoor Spirit Week next week? Maybe we should add another layer to it and we really need to PROMOTE it!! Put your thinking caps on! Let's communicate today about our progress and ideas.
